Histon Feast
The first Sunday of July usually heralds the beginning of Histon Feast. This
community celebration dates back to mediaeval "May Ales and Games" organised in
the summer by church wardens and village guilds to raise funds for the church and
the needy of the parish.
Today a week long celebration revolves about Feast Sunday organised by Histon
Feast Committee. This band of stalwarts oversee fund (and fun) raising events. A village parade is followed by a united church service. Thurstons Fair (pictures) arrives. Sports tournaments begin. There are concerts, a fun run, a Flower Festival, a village market (pictures), traditional dancing, a beer festival, silly sports and much more!

Money raised is awarded to local causes. A formal process run late in each Autumn determines which local causes are supported.
Full details of all events can be found in the Feast Magazine & Events Diary (and from their web site)
which is sold, door to door, to homes in Histon and Impington and available in
local shops.
